One Pink Hairclip - Read, Retweet, Swap →
Ok so this isn’t about iPads but it is a must read nevertheless. A friend of mine has started on a swapping adventure to raise money for the infant cot death charity, FSID. Starting with a single pink hairclip, he is, step by step swapping and trading up to a house-sized prize for the charity. So far he has swapped from: 1 One pink hairclip  2 A “flipping ladybug” toy ...

Viggle social TV app offers real-world rewards for...
Wow! The world has gone dual screen crazy. A lot has happened since we worked up our first ipad dual screen app for a well known LA movie studio back in March 2011. It seems everyone is jostling to become THE platform for TV check in. What they seem to be missing for me is content or a real reason to use them over just using Twitter. Rewards like this from Viggle are an interesting angle and I...

Kindle Fire Sells 1m For Christmas, Playbook Only...
I’m clearly not the only one tempted to get a Fire over christmas. According to amazon (via this piece on Mashable) Kindle Fire sold 1m units. The iPad still seems so expensive but it is encouraging that, at last, there are some real alternatives in the market and the ridiculous Apple price matching game seems to be falling away. $699 for a Playbook anyone? Anyone? Even the formerly...

So long and thanks for all the content...
After four brilliant years at Seven I’m leaving.  I’m sad to go but excited about the future. I’m going to BMB to set up a mobile strand to their business. Having worked in mobile since 2002 I’m excited to have the focus back again after ‘generally digitising’ Seven’s publishing business. Hoping to bring some of my experience with content, publishing,...

(image by Jospeh O Holmes - get a print from  20x200.com) ‘Tis the time of year for round ups, lists and rampant conusmerism. SO what are the top 10 services and trends for the discerning marketer to buy-in to for Christmas? Content marketing is the must have item for any organisation that wants to keep up with the times. Maurice Sendak will be pleased but this isn’t the end - just the beginning for book publishers and I’m sure we’ll see a host of similar experiments with varying levels of success in the next 12 months. The future seems more clear for the magazine and newspaper publishing with some great stats coming out since the launch of Newsstand on iPad.

CBS exec: Mobile not big enough to sell on its own... →
CBS say mobile revenue isn’t significant enough for products to stand on their own. This may be true for traditional publishers but for brands, especially retailers, the case has never been stronger. On the very same site ASOS.com are featured announcing a raft of mobile launches based on their observation that 10% of their traffic is already mobile. At the risk of sounding like a stuck...
