Thanks to Simon Andrews at Addictive Mobile for pointing this one out.

I was really taken by Forrester Analyst, Thomas Husson’s piece for MocoNews about the debate surrounding the relative benefits of mobile web over native applications.

Read the full article here but the gist was that they are good at different things. The mobile web has greater reach, and is a hell of a lot easier to develop for multiple handsets/devices but apps have the edge when it comes to engagement - you can use them offline and the button’s always on your device.

It all depends what you want to achieve, of course.
